Ok, I know this is a photography blog, so you may be asking what is a review of a laptop doing in this blog? Well, for the major reason that photography and computing is very much intertwined nowadays.

We edit our photos with computers so I thought it might be best to do a review of some computers that might be useful for use in photography.

In this case, if you are looking for a laptop to do video editing. The 15.6" model is a great choice since it features the new Intel core i7 processor which is a quad core processor ranging from 2.666 Ghz to 3.066 Ghz.

The Intel Core i7 is based on 64 bit architecture and it also features Intel HD Boost that significantly improves a broad range of multimedia and compute-intensive applications.

The Intel Turbo Boost technology maximizes speed for demanding applications, dynamically accelerating performance to match your workload—more performance when you need it the most.

The 15.6" also has 4 SO-DIMM slots where you can put in 16Gb of RAM. That's huge! You can edit billboard size photos and HD videos with no problem if you have that big amount of RAM.

New cameras include HD movie capture, so this laptop would be great to use to edit those movies.

The HP Envy is expected to be available in the US on Oct 18, 2009 for a price of $1,699 for the 13.1" and $1,799 for the 15.6".
