I saw this article by Ken Rockwell on how to use fill flash in your photos. Ken has a more in-depth explanation than my article on using "on camera flash".
The difference between my article and Ken is that his articles deal more with flash on SLR cameras which you will have more control over and can change the direction where the flash is pointing towards.
