The beauty of an SLR camera is that you can change the lens to suit your needs. From wide angle to telephoto to macro.
Here I'm going to show how to remove the lens from the Nikon F3 camera.
The button to release the lens is the silver button right beside the lens.
Depress the button and hold the lens firmly.
Twist the lens clockwise or counter clockwise depending on the camera you have.
Once the rotation stops, you can then pull out the lens.
This is what the lens look like when removed.
And this is what the inside of the camera looks like.
